The Africa Baseball & Softball Promotion Foundation (J-ABS, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shinya Tomonari) is releasing a preview of a portion of a video showing former Major League Baseball player and J-ABS Executive Dream Partner Hideki Matsui giving batting instruction to baseball players and coaches in Nigeria, Africa.

This video was shown on May 22nd at a "Human Resource Development Baseball Seminar" held by J-ABS in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, West Africa, for approximately 50 baseball coaches and players from 13 states across the country. The Nigerian Baseball and Softball Federation had previously sent batting videos of Nigerian players (ages 15-20) to Matsui, who lives in New York. Based on these videos, Matsui filmed a video discussing points to note and areas for improvement in batting. After finishing the recording, Matsui expressed his hopes, saying, "My greatest pride is having seen some of the world's best players up close, and that has become the foundation of my baseball skills. This time, I wanted to share with the people of Nigeria the things that these top-class players have in common. I hope they can gradually incorporate these into their daily practice."

The Nigerian players also shared their impressions, saying things like, "We're excited to be able to receive instruction from an MLB superstar," "It's a great honor that he took the time to come to New York for us," and "It was easy to understand and very helpful. We realized that building up basic practice is important."

J-ABS is seeking "Dream Partners" (individuals and corporations) to help us expand activities like this one, and to advance the "Africa 55 Koshien Project" together.
